Purpose
Through the savings entrusted to them, the members of the AFG ensure the continued financing of companies, from unlisted startups to large corporations. The segment of listed SMEs is a vital link in the economy, and it is important to strengthen the role of investment in SMEs and mid-sized companies, particularly listed ones, in public policies at both the French and European levels.
This segment includes companies that invest, create jobs in France, and provide, for a significant number of them, innovative solutions essential for ESG transformation and digital transition. They are therefore potentially profitable in the long term for savers and institutional investors. Many French management companies have been specializing for many years in small and mid-cap stocks, both listed and unlisted.
This small and Mid Cap 2030 initiative by the AFG aims to:
- Create a discussion and exchange forum dedicated to investment in SMEs and mid-sized companies, featuring representatives from both the listed and unlisted sectors.
- Structure the ‘voice’ of investors in SMEs and mid-sized companies (SMEs and ETIs) and mobilize representatives to work with all stakeholders involved in SME and mid-sized company financing, particularly publicly listed ones.
- To have resources that allow the AFG to systematically gauge the opinions of fund managers of small and mid-cap companies on the financing of small and medium-sized enterprises.
- Write guides and brochures on topics identified by the Club, communication actions,
- Establish connections with public authorities, regulators, and the entire ecosystem.
- Identify best practices in Europe and around the world.
- Put forward proposals that can be relayed by the AFG’s thematic Committees.
- Participate in French and European regulatory consultations on issues concerning SMEs and mid-sized companies within the AFG.
