Purpose
AFG’s mission is to support and promote the international development of asset management companies. The Export Club brings together all AFG member asset management companies seeking support in their international development, in terms of fund distribution and service.
Club Export provides its members with information, support and a regulatory and tax watch on all issues relating to cross-border distribution.
Objectives
1/ International promotion and representation
The Export Club acts as an ambassador for French asset management companies at international events, conferences and trade shows, boosting their visibility and credibility abroad.
- It may take an active part in missions to promote the Paris asset management market, and organizes meetings to promote investment opportunities in France or the opening up of markets for French asset management companies.
- It receives foreign delegations to discuss our respective markets and, if appropriate, invite them to country meetings on their markets.
- It prepares all relevant marketing information (country fact sheets, presentations, French management advantages).
- The club helps to promote the recognition and harmonization of French professional qualifications and financial products internationally.
2/ Information and Strategic Intelligence
- The Export Club initiates market analyses and reports on international trends and opportunities.
- In conjunction with AFG experts, it monitors regulatory and tax developments in various countries, facilitating understanding of foreign investment environments.
3/ Training and exchange of best practices
- The Export Club organizes country meetings to help management companies understand the specificities of foreign markets and adopt international best practices. It provides an opportunity to exchange views on regulatory and tax aspects, the main local market trends, the different players and distribution channels, customer segments and investor culture in general, and selects the best experts active in the markets studied.
- These country meetings are an opportunity for members to share their experiences and strategies for international success.
4/ Networking and partnerships
- The Export Club puts members in touch with potential partners abroad.
5/ Regulatory support and lobbying
- The Export Club supports its members in their international development (cross-border distribution), whether by country, geographic zone or cross-functional theme.
- It identifies their needs and any stumbling blocks, in liaison with AFG experts, refers matters to the relevant authorities where necessary, and answers any incoming requests or questions from its members concerning their cross-border distribution issues on one or more particular markets.
- It liaises with the AFG’s regulatory experts to identify and raise issues and promote a regulatory framework favorable to exports.
