Purpose
The Tax Commission addresses all tax-related issues concerning the Asset management companies, both as taxpayers and in relation to the taxation of the products they offer.
Its mission is to communicate to the members all relevant information arising from ongoing work and tax news in France, within the European Union, and internationally. This allows members to discuss these topics in an appropriate setting.
The main objective of the Tax Commission is to foster a common understanding of tax rules, in collaboration with the relevant authorities if necessary, in order to address challenges and clarify the interpretation uncertainties that are often encountered. It also aims to encourage a pragmatic and consistent application of tax rules by the authorities.
Objectives
- Track the evolution of legislation and case law in the field of taxation at the international, European, and local levels, in order to address, if necessary, requests for clarifications, explanations, or useful proposals to the authorities for the asset management sector.
- Share regulatory or operational information and answer questions from AFG members, provided that certain points require the intervention of an external tax advisor
- Decide, if necessary, to create working groups dedicated to specific topics and validate their conclusions, in accordance with the provisions of §IV.1 below
- Respond to consultations and questions related to regulatory matters, in collaboration with the other relevant Commissions and Committees of the AFG, which provide their professional expertise.
- Propose regulatory developments on the topics addressed by the Commission
- Participate in sectoral work, in connection with other professional associations and public authorities
